Electric Vehicles & Household Fleets - This work examines the relationship between electric vehicles (EVs) and conventional vehicles in households in the U.S. Using nationally representative data from the 2022 National Household Travel survey, we investigate several details about EVs in U.S. households. First, we find that more households relative to 2017 are EV-only households. Second, we find fewer households than previously reported own an additional internal combustion engine SUV, truck or minivan. Third, we find that about half of EV households use EVs for at least 50% of their household vehicular travel.
